Rock Me Amadeus.
by Amy M.
Eliza had lots of fun playing with her new toy from Uncle Michael! It plays an assortment of Mozart songs, and each button plays a different instrument from the orchestra. She likes to use it as background music while she plays with her other toys. So cute! Someday we’ll sing from the Marriage of Figaro libretto together. Baby steps:)
This toy brings to mind the best scene from my favorite movie of all time (Amadeus). The Youtube clip below doesn’t include the scene in its entirety, but the part that’s been cut from the middle won’t be meaningful to you without the context of the movie.
If you haven’t seen the whole movie, you should watch it immediately! I always showed it to my high school drama students and they LOVED it! Probably because Mozart was quite randy and immature, so I guess teenagers could relate. Except for the musical genius/prodigy part. Most of them couldn’t relate to that.
She is a trip! Ember and I have had so much fun watching the videos. Whenever one ends, she tells me, “Play it again, mommy!” And your living room floor looks like mine. I look forward to the day when I can re-claim some space in my home.
Hahaha I’ve already resigned myself to the fact that my living room will look like this for years to come. I may as well start replacing the books on the shelves with toys!
