Eek! No pics today.

Today, a lovely event occurred–all the smoke alarms went off simultaneously at ear-shattering decibels, and Slade went berserk!  He escaped when I opened the front door, ran down the street, and stubbornly refused to come back in (I had to practically drag him by the leash).  Thankfully, a friend came over to help me change the smoke alarm batteries, and Slade seems to have recovered his mind.

Eliza, however, was not bothered at all.  In fact, she was all smiles and contentment today, despite having had only one 20-minute nap all day!  Unbelievable.

Crafty time!

This was our attempt at a Halloween craft.  The idea is that the ghosts are created by her footprints.  She kept curling her toes and arching her feet, so her footprints look deformed, but I promise her feet are normally-shaped:)

Eliza does this new thing where she lifts both hands in the air, stares at them, and babbles.  I’m pretty sure she’s reciting Shakespearean monologues in her own special language.  I’ve tried so hard to capture a picture of this, but I’m never fast enough.  So here she is in her jumper instead!

It’s been a long time since Eliza has seen her Uncle Michael, so they really enjoyed catching up!

Jimmy has never, ever requested a specific outfit for our daughter until this past Saturday, so I obliged.  Unfortunately, it brought the Aggies no luck:(

Terrific weekend!

Granny and Pappy came back to town for super fun visit!  On Friday night, they watched Eliza while I enjoyed a fantastic girls’ night out at a painting party.  On Saturday, we travelled to San Antonio to visit Uncle Michael, who moved there recently for his splendid new job.

Each evening this week, I’ll post a few pics from the weekend.

Henry had to get some shots this morning, so he was really sleepy today.  I’ll take some pics of the two of them tomorrow and share them with you on Monday.  Tomorrow is my last day to babysit him…I know Eliza will miss him!  Or at least she’ll miss bossing him around.
