Sing Songs, Bring Sweets

Month: August, 2016

It’s raining!

The kids got to splash in puddles today!  It hasn’t rained here in like two months, so it’s kind of a big deal!

Errands.

I’ve gotta hand it to these two–we had so many many errands today, and they were such troopers!  Hardly a cross word, even though we skipped nap time.  Eliza even rocked ballet afterwards!

See that mom in the background?  I’ve pretty much felt the same way today.

This and that.

We read a book about cupcakes at Barnes and Noble yesterday, so we took this to its logical (and delicious) conclusion.

Jed is really into mailboxes lately, so he sorts his mail in a shoe rack in his closet.

Eliza is studying the letter B at school this week, so they made bagel birdfeeders.  So cute!

He wanted to help me cook, which naturally involved wearing my shirt and Jimmy’s hat.

Eliza shared her “All About Me” box at school today, and she drew a picture of our family.  This is the front–Eliza’s on the left, Jimmy’s on the right.

Mommy on the left, and Jed on the right.  Eliza said Jed looks like a “sad spider.”

These are the other items she chose for her box.  Chocolates for her classmates, of course 🙂

Ole!

Mexican food time!  I didn’t feel like cooking yesterday.  Let’s be honest–I don’t feel like cooking any day.  But I still do it!  Somebody give me a medal 🙂

Jedster wouldn’t stay still for a selfie.

I just love these two.

He’s a good sport–he lets Eliza accessorize him.

Magnatiles–the gift that keeps on giving.

Dress Up time!

“Mom, we’re getting ready for the party!”

Playing Dress Up

Two little sillies playing dress up in my closet.

Still adjusting.

Sorry no pics today…we’re still getting adjusted to the school routine, and today was filled with so many chores!  Hopefully we’ll begin to hit our stride soon and the new schedule won’t seem so jarring.  I do miss sleeping until 7:30-8:00, that’s for sure!

School days.

Back to school time is always so busy, but I feel like we’re falling into a nice routine.  Eliza and Jed are doing really well in their classes, and my class is also great!

I just love the way she writes her name on her schoolwork!

First Day of Ballet!

It went amazingly well.  One of Eliza’s best friends from school is in her class, which is awesome!

Story time with friends.

Good friends and Barnes and Noble.  What could be better?
