Sing Songs, Bring Sweets

Month: January, 2014

Birthday girl!

Today is officially her birthday, and we celebrated by staying very busy!  We had story time/sing along in the morning, then tumble time at the gym in the afternoon.  In the evening, she played with her pal Riley until bedtime!  We are both happily exhausted.

She found a little kids’ version of Pride and Prejudice in the children’s section!

And a few more party pics:

Cake time!

She began by daintily picking off the sprinkles and eating them, but then she really got messy!

Here are a few of Eliza and her friends!

I’d also like to brag a little–today in music class, Eliza’s teacher was impressed that she bounced up and down in perfect rhythm with the music!  That’s my girl:)

Party time!

Eliza’s first birthday was a huge success!  We had so much fun with friends and family.  We are very grateful to those who came and also to those who sent gifts/good wishes.  Special thanks to my dad for taking some amazing pictures!  I have so many pics, in fact, that I’ll post a few of my favorites each night this week.

Getting ready!

We are so excited for Eliza’s birthday party this weekend!  We are less excited about the freezing conditions, but we’ll make the most of it!

Slacking.

Sorry, readers…I’ve been blog slacking lately!  During the early part of the day, I have these great blogging intentions that consist of writing an insightful post and including lots of pictures.  After Eliza goes to bed, when I finally have time to blog, I’m so tired that I can barely think straight!  We’ve been very busy lately, so that combined with being 31 weeks pregnant leaves me pretty exhausted by nighttime.  Thanks for sticking with me!

The good news is that Eliza’s birthday party is this weekend, so I should have plenty of pictures to share next week!

Music class!

Eliza and I went to our first music class today, and we had a blast!  There’s lots of movement, though…not sure how much longer I’ll be able to keep up with that!  I didn’t get a chance to take pics, but I will next time:)

Fun with Greek yogurt!

This morning, Eliza decided to either apply her morning facial or perform kabuki theatre–not sure which.  But she did have fun!  I can’t let her play too long, however–this stuff is like spackle when it dries.

Baby time at the library!

She had so much fun with the other babies, as usual!  We got there a bit early, so she played by herself for awhile before the others arrived.  She would’ve crawled around the entire library and pulled all the books off the shelves if I had allowed it.

It’s getting more and more exhausting for me to get us to our activities, but we both get cranky and bored if we stay home all day, so I’ll keep taking her on outings as long as possible!  Hopefully, the baby boy will be an easy little companion and we can pick right back up with our activities not too long after his debut.  I hope he’s more into babywearing than Eliza was/is!

Barnes and Noble time!

She had fun making friends and playing with the toys!  She was mildly interested in the books, too!
