A Flippin’ Birthday Gift from Baby

by Amy M.

When Jimmy offered to make breakfast for my birthday today, he asked me what I wanted.

Birthday Breakfast of Champions

SO PERFECT!  Too bad I got full after eating only three.  That’s ok…the rest will be a terrific midnight snack.

We had our 38 week appointment today, and we made some interesting discoveries.  Since Eliza is small, the doctor wanted to do another ultrasound for growth observation.  Baby is healthy and getting a bit bigger, currently weighing in at 5 lbs 6 oz.  Also–surprise!  She’s breech.  She was head-down at her 36 week ultrasound, so this is a fun new development.  We have another ultrasound this Wednesday.  If she’s still breech, a c-section will be scheduled.  We’re so close to her birthday!

This afternoon, Jimmy and I journeyed to the shops in Rockport so I could look for cute baby stuff.  For those of you who’ve never been, Rockport is a cool little town where rich people park their boats and buy things from art galleries (there are four art galleries in one small block!).  After shopping, we took the ferry to Port Aransas and enjoyed our last dinner date without having to make babysitting arrangements.  By the way–the restaurant is called The Venetian Hot Plate, and it is DELICIOUS.

Soon-to-be parents!

Aahhh, the blissful world of still getting a full night’s sleep.

All in all, it’s been an excellent birthday.  And Downton Abbey starts this Sunday, which is also a fantastic birthday gift.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
